The votes are in: Joe Biden, the “Happy Warrior” who was vice president from 2009-17, won the majority of votes during Super Tuesday, where 14 states had their say in who they want to be the Democratic nominee.
Sen. Bernie Sanders was a close second, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren came in a distant third. (Michael Bloomberg is now out of the campaign, and his support of the eventual nominee may be crucial this fall.)
Just a few weeks ago, Biden’s chances at winning the Democratic nomination were considered a long shot at best, but as the saying goes, “Nobody knows nothing.” (Of course, support from former candidates Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar didn’t hurt Biden.)
The current White House resident that Democrats hope to replace, Donald Trump, hasn’t had the best week. From a peace deal with Afghanistan (that now seems to be falling apart) to the spread of the corona virus, his attempts to manage both have been mediocre at best. Interestingly enough, voters have taken notice -- and will Trump be able to overcome his political vulnerabilities (yes, they do exist)? We’ll break it down during today’s podcast.
